The Faculty of Engineering has in excess of 2000 students, 2200 at undergraduate level, 150 in taught postgraduate programs and 200 research postgraduate students. A range of specializations are available in the Bachelor of Engineering degree. New specializations, such as software engineering and biomedical engineering, have been introduced in recent years, in response to the changing needs of society. Research is also a key activity at the Faculty, with large scale research activities and collaborations with other institutions and members of the industry. Much of the work undertaken is of a world-class level, while in many areas, the research programs, and academics and students involved, are clearly leading the world in their discoveries and developments.
